Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Male Children: understanding their unique needs in recovery and healing. Thesis - Understanding the importance of identifying and effectively responding to the commercial sexual exploitation of male children requires mental health professionals to develop culturally responsive care practices that address the unique needs of this population.
Significance -
1. Lack of awareness and understanding about commercial sexually exploited (CSE) male child survivors may result in inept care practices that fail to address this population's unique needs.
2. Increasing academic awareness of how mental health professionals (MHP’s) could enhance their skills in identifying and responding to CSE male child survivors and improve MHP's success in working with this vulnerable population.
3. Introduction to an enriched understanding of barriers experienced by CSE male child survivors to elevate proficiency and competency in mental health treatment.
